So here is Tracy in her little Hyundai car, driving me around so I could take sunset pictures!

A nice little homestead on further inspection it looked abandoned so we swung around to the other side where we saw a goose (go further down the pictures, you'll see it.) This road is Concession 4 off of Altona it ends at 14th line thereabouts. I'm sure it's Scarborough/York Territory. I must look it up.

We then headed back we took concession 4 west and we found this iron gate protecting a massive house and barn.

Then Tracy wanted to show me the Seaton Trail, I was trying to take pictures while she was driving, I like the effect of this one, like it's caught up in a tornado...ding dong the witch is dead...hahahaha, my little pretty...ok forget it.

Tracy and I went for a drive...I wanted to get pics of the Trillium and a sunset. Tracy was right into it...she showed me a little hamlet she and her sister discovered but since it was getting dark we only drove through it quickly...as Tracy said it was like something out of "deliverance". I wondered who lived down in this valley??? Maybe a biker club? No bikes, however. Lots of old SUV'S...Okay so we, I took alot pictures and Tracy drove. We hope to do it every Monday if she doesn't have too much homework.
I saw the Blue Jay while I was eating, so my camera being ever present I slowly pointed and zoomed in and shot him picking insects off the tree. In this picture, he's probably thinking "Lady eat your dinner and stop pointing that thing at me!"

I quickly finished my dinner, changed and got my camera, person and keys to Todd's truck. Called Tracy. I didn't know for sure if I was going picture taking. Then I thought I just have to see if the Trillium has bloomed!

I think I mentioned that when walking through this part of the forest with all the trillium there was a lot of this...yes...bat poop.

Sunday afternoon. I'm roasting a turkey, which I'm sure is going to take hours. I took some pics around the house and then I took a ride to the conservation area. There's a faint mist like haze over the Lake...I'm looking forward to tomorrow's sunrise maybe a sunset pic tonight.

Western view (Scarborough is to the west of Pickering). Hydro wants to put windmills on the easter shores of Scarborough. You can see from the picture, the Lake waters are very calm not a lot of wind today. I really don't want to see those eye sore windmills polluting our view.

We left at 7:01, the sun had already begun to rise but at least I caught it as it starting to ascend over the lake, not to high yet. My camera settings have been tampered with and I need to readjust them. I hope you enjoy these as did Marina and I. She was quite thrilled and blinded by it all. I told her, we can't stare at itor aim the camera at it. She says "now ya tell me, I'm gonna see spots all day now!" she stomps off to the car! Aaah well, with tears of joy (I don't know why my eyes just started to water) I walked back to the car! On my way 2 work I went, first a drop off at daycare!

On the way home last night I went to the Guild Inn and stopped in the parking lot to see the damage to the Artist Studio. I took some pictures, it was a very sad sight to see, a few cars actually drove in after me to look as well. I'm hoping something can be done, or some of it saved.

Pictures of the "KILLER ICICLES". Well I hope they don't become killer but I'm afraid everytime I leave my house of one falling on me as I'm locking the door and turning my front step into a horror show! Here are some pics from this morning I had to add a moon shot of course! A hill shot was added too, the snow plow has made a mini hill in the middle of our court! I stopped for a sunrise picture but didn't actually catch it, I was too early and had to get my "buttocks" to work.

I decided to stop at Rosetta MacLean Park to take pictures of the sunrise. Greeted byt the wall of cloud in -10 degree weather, I stood taking pictures bare handed, freezing my fingers off but all the while figuring it was worth to get a sunrise shot...only the wall stood stronger then I and I left the scene as no clear shot would be taken this morning...my fingers frozen I retreated back to my car alone in the parking lot like a lover waiting for his mistress...I feel a romantic novel coming on...lol...enjoy my photos

Getting home in the dark is so dreary! And what did I have to look forward to besides, emptying garbage bins and putting out the recycling. Then settling down for dinner and later on the hockey game! I walked sluggishly from the garage to the house inside.

"Guess what?" He says. I cringe a little..."You got a package!" He waves the package before my eyes, they bulge...lol..."YES!" I yell. Thank you thank you thank you!

I could not contain myself and ripped open the package! There they were the home made soaps I was promised from a friend who lives overseas! Thank you so much. Here they are displayed I love them!

Especially the body butter...it smells wonderful...a little bit of heaven has come to Pickering today and it's all for me! I may share with my sister...I'm thinking about it Nell!

Out For A Drive

Hey I went for a drive last night...my daughter who was starving kept looking in cupboards for food and languished on the couch looking like she was in utter pain. "After I put this load of laundry in, would you like to go to 'MCDONALD'S'? I asked. She quickly jumped off the coach and hugged me full frontal, "I love you!!!!" she exclaimed. "I love you too! Go get ready I'll be up in a minute." I said. "Oh and go get me a pair of pants in my bedroom, I can't wear my PJ's to Micky D's."
I had my own agenda, I wanted to see if the North Pole had been setup yet. Here are few pics of people's houses all decorated in Christmas Spirit.

It is a little green however! That will change by next week.

Here is my house looking a little dark and dreary compared to the above houses. I think I will pick up those deers today and a spotlight!
This weekend at work our holiday Poinsettia tree was put up!

It's allot shorter then last year I noticed. Short on Christmas Spirit.

Marina's birthday is November 1st. I was getting ready for my brother in law's Halloween party, I was 37 weeks and as big as a house! I was going to wear a clown suit. Luckily I hadn't dressed up yet, because my water broke. I love this time of year and the fact my daughter is born on ALL SAINTS DAY!

This morning, I took my camera out of my napsack because I thought I won't be seeing any spectacular sunrise today...driving towards the east to get a donut for Marina because HALLELUJA we left 15 minutes earlier then normal, anyway, driving toward the east to the TIM HORTONS, the sky was a beautiful fuschia and purple or navy.

Anyway, I was smacking my forehead in disgust(that I had left my camera at home)...they're not very good with a camera phone but they'll do just to let you know that it was gorgeous this morning...I can't say much for the afternoon. "RED SKY IN MORNING, SAILORS TAKE WARNING". It does call for rain today.

I invited Tracey to try the Pasta with Chickpea soup I made from recipe I printed off from Bleeding Espresso...she loved it. Then Christine, Tracey's sister came over with her fiance Sean. Christine invited Nancy and Andrew...and here we are drinking red wine and other beverages (MuM's Champagne, Beer) on a Wednesday night...truly the seasons are a changing! My Baby Needs A Tune Up

I decided to take my car in for a mild check up. She needs tire balancing and a fuel filter, not to mention an oil change. It's a little early for that about 500 km but what the heck saves me from leaving her on a cold snowy morning to walk to the subway station. I leave her in front of the service station. Last night I made Pasta con Ceci (Pasta with Chickpeas).
I got the reciepe from http://www.Bleedingespresso.com.
One thing I did not use was rosemary...blah! Oh and I searched hi and low for my pepperoncini and there wasn't any left...I use pepper flakes.
I can't wait to eat for lunch with some romano cheese sprinkled ontop and a crusty bun.

GUILD INN

I took some pictures of Brides that I tried to take THEM descretly on Saturday...and of course AT my favourite spot "Guild Inn". It was a beautiful day just to walk around the gardens. While we were walking around the most romantic thing happened a plane flew over head with a banner attached to it. It read "Teresa, you are my everything, will you marry me?" I think it could have been for someone in one of the wedding party's or maybe for someone taking a stroll with their lover!
I didn't get a shot as Marina and I only saw it once before we headed under the canopy of trees to the Bluffs. I didn't have the Canon Camera that could get the close ups either. What was I thinking now bringing my good camera to the Bluffs.

Softball Championships and Demolition Derby!

Yesterday was a great day for baseball and demolition derbies. Even though our team LAPG didn't win, in our hearts we were winners as well as division champions! After baseball we caught up with our friends Diane and Jack and their girls who were in their softball championships! They also didn't win the championship but won their division! We are proud of our girls!
I have video of the derby but I tried uploading it and it didn't work. I am going to find a way!

Not being in a hurry to get to work and feeling a little down in the dumps I went to a place where I always felt happy or I would go to think about things. It felt good to be there. I wish I could have enjoyed a coffee or latte there and reconnect with a friend. All is peaceful and quiet here today on the Civic Holiday. We did not go up north or to the states, we preferred to relax at home or at a relatives house. No traffic for us, it just defeats the purpose of a relaxing weekend. Today we are just being lazy...all the laundry is done...and we are ready to go to work all relaxed.

Well we headed over to the Schaw or Oshawa for a BBQ with my Todd's sister and family. They invited some friends as well. All good on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I made Ribs, we had burgers, corn and salad...lots of cheesecake for desert. Here are some photos as I was busy eating and drinking.

Marina finished horse camp this week, where she learned to groom, saddle, walk and ride her horse (English style). She had a great time and we (T and I) couldn't be prouder.

Day 3 - swimming in the pool and bbq - nice garden - no Kim Mitchell concert-It Rained
Day 4 - going home

I also have to mention there were allot of old antique cars and people were lining up their chairs in Port Huron Michigan to watch Cruise Night. It would have been event to watch...old cars cruising up and down the main drag, music and concerts everywhere! What a cool thing to do.

This morning I left home early...I thought I'd take a detour to the Bluffs.
Summer days were so much fun here when I was a kid/teen. This was a place where I could walk or ride my bike to with my transitor radio I would sit on the edge and dream of boys. Or when I was upset or lonley. It felt so peaceful here, recharged me everytime. There were fun times too. The older boys used to come here to drink beer and my friends and I would spy on them. They tell us to go away...we wouldn't though.

This was the path to party and boys!

We would come out here to this beautiful view. The boys would be sitting on the edge drinking beer. We girls would spy on them and when found out would join the party.

On Canada Day, we went to my in-laws for a Barbeque and fireworks. While we were there we walked over to Kinsmen Park and watched Honeymoon Suite in concert. They are a Canadian band. The kids had alot of fun as did I. Another BBQ...more grub and fun in the sun...sun? Where is the sun this morning. As we leave the house to go to Newmarket, the heavens open up and sound their discord. I'm hoping that the more north we get the sun will be shining and we can play ball, have our water fights and eat hamburgers and sausages!

Where I Went - Saturday June 28

Marina and I went to Aunt Dawn's. Marina went swimming with her cousin David. Her other cousin Alex and Alyssa did not want to swim. I had a nice visit with Dawn and Adam. Marina lost her bottoms a couple times...hee hee. Uncle Adam plays with his McDonald's toys as Marina dries.

Each day there has been a thunderstorm and it's been hot and hazy!

Where I Went - Friday June 27

On my vacation day Friday, I took Marina and her friend to Frenchman's Bay in Pickering. They skipped stones and ran through the sprinkler park. The nuclear station was shrouded in hot humid haze. As I looked at it and then the lake where some parents allowed their children to frolic, I wonder how contaminated the water and air were in this area. I put aside my concerns for a moment as I watched the ducks, the children and boats...another day at the beach.

This Morning's Jaunt

When I was a little girl living in Toronto, my brother went to the Scarborough Bluffs with his friends, he brought home clay and a calendar with the bluffs in it.
I thought it was the most beautiful place and wanted to go there as soon as possible. Scarborough was only 15 minutes away from where we lived in Toronto, not very far. But for a 10 year old it was a world away. A few years later, the family moved to Scarborough, 10 minutes north of the Scarborough Bluffs...that's where all my summers were spent riding to them on my bike with friends. Sitting under the crab apple tree. While others slid down clay pathes, I watched, afraid of heights I preferred the more tree lined paths down to the lake, something to hold on to and no steep drops.
Now I take the easier routes. I drive down or walk down paths that are paved or stairs that are there for that purpose.

On my way to work, I stopped at Rosetta McLean Park. I haven't been in almost 7 years. I pass the park every day. This day I stopped, with my new camera in hand I took these photos and was blessed by an appearance of a handsome fox. He ran off and I couldn't take more then one picture...lol...a little camera shy I think or hungry. The squirrel didn't seem to mind though.

My Walk to Rouge Beach...Memories

I walked to Rouge Beach which is in Scarborough. From my house it's a 20 minute walk. The Rouge River is like a dividing line between Pickering in Scarborough.
There were alot of people fishing, I wonder if they had their licenses.
My dad used to fish there alot. He took me once. Rouge Beach holds fond memories for me. Taking my nephew Aaron there when he was a little toddler. My dad fishing there every chance he got. The summer before he passed, he said I would have to take him there so he could go fishing again. I told yes, I would when he was better. I never did get the chance. I'm sure though he's doing whatever he wants in heaven, fishing, gardening or just being in Sicily's country side among the lemon or olive trees or at the sea. I miss my Dad, I will never forget how he taught me to love nature. Every sunny day I say "Dad would love this day"!
